14 February 2007

Hi everybody, after reading this article, i juz cant resist myself from posting it up.....

The newly popular media and marketing buzzword seems to mean different things to different people, but in general, a metrosexual :

1. is a modern, usually single man in touch with himself and his feminine side;
2. grooms and buffs his head and body, which he drapes in fashionable clothing both at work or before hitting an evening hotspot;
3. has discretionary income to stay up to date with the latest hairstyles, the newest threads, and the right shaped shoes;
4. confuses some guys when it comes to his sexuality;
5. makes these same guys jealous of his success with the ladies -- for many metros, to interact with women is to flirt;
6. impresses the women who enjoy his company with the details that make the man; among them:
- his appreciation for literature, cinema, or other arts
- his flair for cooking
- his savoir faire in choosing the perfect wine and music
- his eye for interior design

7. is a city boy or, if living a commute away from downtown, is still urbane, if not rightly urban;
8. enjoys reading men's magazines...

So, Who Coined The Term?
Mark Simpson, a British and outspokenly gay social "commentarist," first published the term in a 1994 article called "Here Come The Mirror Men," which ran in Britain's Independent . The concept was developed thanks to Simpson's book on masculine identity in a media-driven world, called Male Impersonators: Men Performing Masculinity .

In general parlance, to be called metrosexual is not to be called gay, but rather sensitive, chic and cultured.

Hey 7a

The much awaited STJ is finally here! *applause* -_-

Here are the details

16 Feb (Friday) 4.30pm onwards

53 Grange Road, Clubhouse, Spring Grove (It's next to the MOE Teacher's Network)

How to get there:

From school, take 174 to Gleneagles, then change to 75.

From King Albert Park (not the bus stop on Bukit Timah Road; it's the one on Clementi Road in the direction of Clementi, NOT Jln Anak Bukit), take 75.

DO NOT GET OFF AT THE BUSSTOP OUTSIDE THE CONDOMINIUM THE COLONNADE. Get off at the busstop opposite the MOE Teacher's Network. It's between 2 condominiums (Grange 70 and Grange 80). PLEASE USE THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CROSS THE ROAD. ><

Yeah so once you cross the road to the MOE Teacher's Network side, walk along the Road until you reach Spring Grove.

Then go in and go to the clubhouse. DUH.

Btw, Baohe, can u scan a map that i'll bring tmr? then upload so that it can help us get there? Thanks!

SEE YOU THERE! :D

Melissa

Hey cool, I can finally post back into the blog.

A few questions to make you perfectly irritated:

1. A rooster lays an egg on a roof shaped like an arrowhead. (like ^). Where does the egg fall?
2. A bull family consists of papa bull, mama bull and baby bull. Where is mama bull?
3. Q: I go from Bedok to Simei to Bishan. Where do I go next?
A: Er... Toa Payoh
Now answer this question : I go from Changi to Jurong to Kranji. Where do I go next?
