I just had a most memorable journey home. Walked most of my way...
Lessons ended at 6pm today. Boarded bus 154 with friend at 6.30pm. Stuck at KAP area for half an hour before we decided to eat there first (logically speaking, after that traffic should clear). Upon alighting, we realised an entire chain of 11 buses were stuck in a row. Super zhuang4 guan1.
7.20pm we emerged from KAP, realising no bus has moved an inch since we left. No bus can turn into Clementi Road. We wanted to walk to Clementi Road's bus stop cos got more choices pf buses there. There we realised another 11 or so buses were stuck in a row (along with 10 thousand other cars).
After walking for another 15minutes along the road (feeling so impressed at the phenomenon), suddenly a bunch of cars are u-turning on the road, going against the correct flow of traffic (no flow, though). And there's not a single vehicle in the stretch of road ahead anymore. Super weird. Super eerie, considering it's dark and cool...
Walked for another 15minutes (with NO CAR on the road), suddenly several buses are like stuck there. Some officers were around, telling us the only way to get anywhere is by foot, cos a super huge tree fell and blocked the traffic totally. The tree has even affected the traffic on the other direction of the road.
Since no vehicle can ever get through that tree, so no taxi/whatever can take even after we got past that point...Walked another 10min (almost Clementi MRT liao) got another lane there, finally stopped a taxi, and was home in 5 minutes. Reflection: the wonder of a CAR...
